RV stays in Nevada
Basin and range, Highway 50 emptiness, and dark skies that rewrite what you thought stars looked like.
Search NevadaA traveler's overview
Nevada is mostly sagebrush and silence. The Loneliest Road in America (US-50) crosses it east-west with two-hundred-mile gaps between gas stops. Great Basin National Park in the east is one of the least-visited in the system.
CurbNTurf hosts cluster around Reno-Tahoe and the Las Vegas exurbs, with a few in the rural east. Distances are deceptive — fill up every chance you get and carry water.

Roads, food, and seasons in Nevada
Drive US-50 across the state — Carson City to Ely or further. The Highway 50 Survival Guide passport (free at chambers of commerce along the route) is a kitschy fun overlay.
Stargaze at Great Basin. The park's annual Astronomy Festival in September is one of the best in the country. Wheeler Peak is drivable to nearly 10,000 feet for the best skies.
Summer in the basin is hot; winter at altitude is cold. Spring and fall are the sweet spot. Fuel and food are scarce on US-50 — top off before you commit.
